Utilizing its Cellular Visual Technology (CVT) AnaLogic/Eutecus has developed a visual inspection and quality control system for checking irregularities in paper, aluminium and steel industries relying on the latest version of the Bi-i camera.

A full and continuous visual inspection can be carried out on the surface of different materials moving at a speed of up to 4 m/s. The system can robustly detect dirt spots and patches, surface irregularity, and errors in a prescribed pattern. The complete standalone application runs on the Bi-i platform. Once a fault is detected and identified, its basic information is transmitted to a host computer, which can make the necessary interventions in the manufacturing process.

The current system is being optimized for metal surface analysis, however, the solution can be easily generalized to other surface quality assurance areas - the InstantVision solutions running on the Bi-i system ensure a rapid application prototyping.
