Bi-i™ V401X Video Analytics module bundled with firmware / software for
high-performance embedded video event detection in FPGA
The MVE™ Evaluation Kit Version 3.0 is a fully functional video
analytics system consisting of the Bi-i™ V401X Video Analytics
Module, bundled with firmware and software for testing video
analytics functions and performance of MVE™, embedded
completely in a low-cost FPGA. MVE™ can be configured with
ease and simplicity through a carefully designed graphical
user interface.
The MVE™ Evaluation Kit V3.0 also includes firmware and
instructions for running FPGA-based video event detection on
the Xilinx XtremeDSP™ Video Starter Kit (VSK). Both the Bi-i™
V401X VA module and the Xilinx VSK contain the Xilinx
Spartan-3A DSP 3400A™ FPGA that contains the MVE™, as well
as all necessary peripherals and software for controlling the
full video analytics operation.
The PC software of the MVE™ Evaluation Kit V3.0 allows
running the MVE™ event detection functions in software only
(without the Bi-i™ V401X hardware), which enables fast and
convenient experimentation in PC environment.
MVE™ Evaluation Kit V3.0 also serves as a reference design for
rapidly embedding MVE™ in smart camera and DVR/NVR
designs.

platforms) and is shipped with a number of pre-recorded videos and demo configurations.

The MVE™ Evaluation Kit provides an advanced environment to test the unique multiple parallel event detection capability of
MVE™. When implemented on Xilinx’ FPGA platforms MVE™ executes “all the rules all the time”, processing full HD 720p resolution
30fps video within a single-chip, a break through computing capability that exceeds current DSP offerings.
